This role is for a High Pressure Turbine Module Integration Leader supporting the LM9000 program reporting directly to LM9000 Engineering Program Leader. The role is essential to the success of the overall program given the HPT upcoming validation activity next year in support of EIS.

Systems engineering is a cross-functional engineering discipline centered on an approach mindset and process. All activities that consider both the business and the technical needs of the customers with the goal of providing a quality product that meets the users needs. The discipline that executes a robust process of design creation and optimization of systems consisting of identification and quantification of system requirements creation of alternate system design concepts performance of design trade studies selection and implementation of the best designs and verification that the design is properly integrated and executed. Process that proceeds from concept to production to operation.

The HPT Systems Module Integration Leader will be responsible for setting engineering priorities and direction for the HPT engineering team. The role requires leadership and coordination of both internal and external facing engineering teams to ensure the LM9000 program objectives customer needs and systems engineering processes and directives are net.

The role has moderate autonomy requiring high levels of operational judgment. This includes providing technical direction and project leadership to deliver on all safety quality delivery and cost objectives.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Conducts component and product integration. All activities that span multiple components and products and are concerned with how to integrate for maximum performance and operability. Manages product and systems requirements specifications and flow down. Drives validation and verification activities for the overall product/system including system level testing.
  • Responsible for defining product requirements for the module / component / subcontractors and partners teams. Manages interface between components and execution organizations.
  • Responsible for driving CTQ / Risk trades within the teams designing the components. Manages the overall product configuration and configuration control system.
  • Requires specialized knowledge within the function. Influence the development of strategy for the area of responsibility including control of resources and influences policy formulation.
  • Interprets simple internal and external business challenges and recommends best practices to improve products processes or services. Stays informed of industry trends that may inform work.
  • Uses high level of judgment to make decisions and handle complex tasks or problems in areas of operational product management manufacturing technology or engineering. Has ability to assess quality of information given and ask pertinent questions to stakeholders. Able to offer new solutions to problems outside of set parameters and is able to construct and provide recommendations. Uses multiple internal and some external sources outside of own function to help arrive at a decision.
  • May lead functional teams or projects with minimal resource requirements risk and/or complexity. Communicates difficult concepts and may influence others options on particular topics. May guide others to consider a different point of view.
  • Utilize Flight Deck principals and tools to solve problems and optimize execution of assigned tasks. Fosters an environment of continuous improvement

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in engineering from an accredited university or college
  • Minimum 8 years of applicable engineering experience
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas now or in the future for this job opening

This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information.
