Job Description

Requirements

You should have:

  • MPH /MBA/ . in Epidemiology and Biostatistics / . in health policy and management / Masters in sociology or any other relevant field
  • at least eight years relevant research and health systems experience
  • good networking and interpersonal skills
  • ability to plan field activities and/or complex tasks
  • capacity to conduct qualitative exploratory research
  • familiarity with government health system
  • capability to manage field team work independently and take initiative
  • computer skills: MS Word Spread sheets
  • good writing and speaking skills for English
  • familiar with the provincial languages such as Punjabi Pashto Balochi

Introduction

The Centre of Excellence in Women and Child Health aims to support the introduction scale-up and further piloting of high quality and high impact interventions to improve Maternal Newborn Child and Adolescent Health (MNCAH) in Pakistan by harnessing the potential of both public and private sectors coupled with introduction of women and girls empowerment intervention.

This a grant funded contractual position.

Responsibilities

You will be responsible to supervise project activities related to field and data management to ensure quality control while maintaining good working relationship with staff community and various stakeholders involved. Specific responsibilities include to:

  • implementation and supervision of research projects developing instruments for data collection and monitoring.
  • developing SoPs for project and administrative processes and procedures to facilitate standardized practices at all field sites hiring and training of staff as per projects requirements
  • evaluating the performance of staff and giving feedback conducting internal audits for on-going research projects and reporting to the principal investigators with recommendations.
  • hiring and training of research staff as per projects requirements
  • working closely with administrative staff to ensure discipline sufficient supplies and optimal staff at the field sites on daily basis.
  • observing troubleshooting and reporting to higher management with solution for identified problems for efficient performances at field sites
  • build strategic relationship with relevant stakeholders at national and international level which includes local federal and national government representatives; community stakeholders and international granting agencies;
  • represent advocate and promote departmental research in relevant AKU forum;
  • advocate on behalf of research faculty with AKU Support Departments and Research Office when needed to solve research-related issues
  • prepare and submit technical reports and manuscripts
  • actively look for grant opportunities available and apply for the potential options. Develop technical proposals in consultation with PI
  • responsible for the indoctrination of senior level staff through continuous training and development of staff to get acquainted with modern research techniques;
  • preparation and compilation of study progress report
  • in collaboration with the Data Manager produce monthly project reports
  • present the study results as per the requirement
