The Ohio Board of Nursing (OBN) regulates more than 300000 licenses and certificates. OBN licenses and regulates Registered Nurses (RNs) Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) Advanced Practice Nurses (APRNs) Dialysis Technicians (DTs) Community Health Workers (CHWs) and Medication Aides (MA-Cs). OBNs top priorities are to efficiently license the nursing workforce and remove unsafe practitioners from practice in a timely manner to protect Ohio patients. Maintains & reviews the Board of Nursings (BON) complaint email account (i.e. transfers complaints received to the Boards case management system; organizes data & information retrieves prints & updates information at supervisors direction from/on the compliance database). Assists with public records requests (e.g. tracks & monitors progress communicates with appropriate personnel scans photocopies emails correspondence & keeps accurate records prepares records retention & disposal schedules & arranges record transfers).
Relieves supervisor of routine administrative duties (e.g. independently composes & proofreads advisory letters consent agreements hearing letters & other documents related to Ohio Revised Code (ORC) 119 hearings (e.g. address changes waivers letters notices etc.) for review by supervisor &/or attorney staff members.
Performs non-routine administrative tasks (i.e. independently formulates decisions &/or judgments involving non-legal interpretation of policies & procedures as they would apply to given situations to resolve problems); represents supervisor at meetings or conferences with other agencies or departments; creates data reports to identify departmental status & trends to identify areas for improvement.
Performs other duties as assigned (e.g. receives opens logs distributes incoming mail; answers screens telephone calls; greets & directs visitors; maintains general inventory of general office supplies & orders as needed; maintains files & retrieves information).
