Key Responsibilities:
- Install inspect maintain and repair HVAC systems and components
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues in HVAC systems
- Perform regular preventative maintenance on heating and cooling systems
- Replace or repair worn or defective parts on equipment
- Ensure systems are operating efficiently and within manufacturer specifications
- Interpret blueprints wiring diagrams and technical manuals
- Comply with all applicable standards policies and procedures including safety procedures and the maintenance of a clean work area
- Maintain records of work performed materials used and time spent on each job
- Provide excellent customer service and communicate effectively with clients regarding system issues and solutions
- Journeyman level skills in troubleshooting and servicing HVAC Equipment.
- Service equipment to include recovering refrigerant repairing leaks replacing components etc.
- Some smaller replacements may occur in-house.
- Proper usage of HVAC tools to include recovery machine vacuum pump manifold gauges oxy-acetylene torches etc.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- 2-year degree in air conditioning or similar field or at least 5- 10 years of industry experience or experience in servicing mechanical systems in the HVAC industry.
- Knowledge of various types of HVAC equipment to include split systems air handlers chillers VRF and pumps.
- EPA 608 Universal (CFC Certification) Required
- Effective interpersonal skills to properly represent AB Facility Services to customers and other outside contacts in an ethical and professional manner.
- Ability to explain technical information to technical and non-technical people. Leadership skills to support the activities of Mechanics working on non-complex non-critical Building Automation equipment on a job site.
- Computer experience required and the ability to program HVAC related software.
Licenses/Certifications:
- Valid drivers license.
- Trades Certifications/Licenses a plus.
