Job Description
Job Title: Senior Python Flask Developer (Clinical Domain)
Location: Chicago IL (Onsite occasional visits to customer office)
Experience Level: 7 8 years
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Python Flask Developer with strong backend development skills and clinical domain expertise. The ideal candidate will design and implement secure scalable web applications and APIs for clinical data management medical monitoring and study workflow automation.
This role will work closely with data engineers data scientists and clinical operations teams to ensure seamless integration of web applications into the overall clinical ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
- Design develop and maintain Flask-based web applications and REST APIs for clinical data workflows.
- Integrate applications with data pipelines clinical databases and visualization tools.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA GxP and FDA 21 CFR Part 11 regulations.
- Optimize application performance scalability and security.
- Collaborate with UI/UX designers to deliver user-friendly interfaces for clinical users.
- Troubleshoot issues and provide production support when needed.
- Document application design architecture and workflows for stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- 7 8 years of professional experience in software development with Python and Flask.
- Strong expertise in building RESTful APIs and backend services.
- Experience working with clinical trial data EDC systems or medical monitoring solutions.
- Solid understanding of relational databases (PostgreSQL MySQL SQL Server) and ORM frameworks (SQLAlchemy).
- Familiarity with authentication/authorization mechanisms (OAuth2 JWT).
- Knowledge of deployment on cloud platforms (AWS Azure GCP) and containerization (Docker).
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Willingness to work onsite in Chicago and visit customer office occasionally.
