JOB SUMMARY:
Under minimal supervision this position provides photography and post-production digital editing services for promotional and marketing purposes for the College. Duties include: taking photographs and researching historical archived photographs as requested; managing the IRSC photo archives and the digital asset management system; and collaborating with the design team and recommending artistic direction as it relates to imagery for use in creative projects.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Fulfills requests for photographs for use in presentations exhibits research and publications.
- Maintains orderly photo and negative archives; organizes digital file storage; and stores electronic devices.
- Assists in producing and presenting student and other testimonials.
- Contributes to the IRSC Instagram and other social media platforms.
- Maintains photography and graphics arts equipment and supplies.
- Serves as contributing editor to the IRSC Instagram page.
- Works frequently during evening and weekend hours.
- Completes all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
- Associate Degree in Photography; three (3) years of related photography experience; or any equivalent combination of education training and experience which provides the requisite knowledge skills and abilities for this job.
- Knowledge of photo equipment tools and supplies used for taking processing and enhancing digital imagery including cameras lenses lighting and image processing software.
- Knowledge of theory and techniques of modern photography.
- Knowledge of photo editing software applications and digital asset management systems.
- Knowledge of copyright and privacy laws.
- Skill in organizing solving problems time management and prioritizing.
- Skill in working with Microsoft Office and Windows based applications.
- Skill in selecting appropriate camera angles picture composition filtering lighting or other treatment necessary for indoor and outdoor environments.
- Ability to be diplomatic meet deadlines under challenging circumstances to be accurate and detailed oriented use good judgment multi-task and work independently as well as with others.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
This position classifies the physical exertion requirements as medium work involving lifting no more than 50 pounds at a time with frequent lifting or carrying of objects weighing up to 25 pounds. If someone can do medium work we determine that he or she can also do sedentary and light work.
