Description
We are currently seeking a Locum MD (Medical Doctor) or DO (Osteopathic Doctor) with a specialty in Emergency this role you will play a crucial part in providing temporary medical services to healthcare facilities in Fredericksburg. Your expertise in emergency medicine will be vital in ensuring quality patient care and efficient emergency response.
As a Locum MD or DO you will be involved in a variety of emergency medicine projects responding to acute medical needs stabilizing patients and collaborating with healthcare teams to deliver timely and effective treatment. This position offers a unique opportunity to make a difference in emergency care while gaining valuable experience in diverse medical settings.
Responsibilities:
- Respond to emergency medical situations promptly and provide immediate care to patients.
- Assess patients conditions and determine appropriate treatment plans.
- Perform medical procedures as necessary such as intubation wound care and suturing.
- Collaborate with nurses specialists and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Document all medical interventions patient progress and treatment plans accurately.
- Adhere to medical protocols guidelines and safety standards at all times.
- Communicate effectively with patients families and staff members to address concerns and provide updates on patient status.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient cases and treatment strategies.
Requirements:
- Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution.
- Board certification in Emergency Medicine.
- Valid state medical license and DEA registration.
- Proven experience working in emergency departments or urgent care settings.
- Strong clinical skills and ability to make quick accurate decisions in high-pressure situations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Flexibility to adapt to different healthcare settings and schedules.
- Schedule: 7a-7p or 7p-7a
- Facility: Standalone emergency department fully equipped trauma bay 11 private treatment rooms
- Fully integrated with nearby medical center
- Patient Census: 8500 annually 23 daily
- Must be board-certified or board-eligible
- Paid travel & expenses
