Our Desired Candidate Will Have
- High School Diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate) strongly preferred.
- One year previous medical office and patient registration experience strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing managing files and records and other office procedures and terminology.
- Computer literacy good typing skills is necessary.
- Knowledgeable of insurance providers is a plus.
- Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment meeting quality standards for services and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
- Self-starter with the ability to adapt.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to function as a team player.

In This Role You Will
- Greet and interview all patients for registration and enter information into the computer correctly.
- Complete required registration forms (MSP ABNs waiver etc.) and obtain authorized signatures.
- Take patient and/or employee payments such as co-pays and record payment appropriately as described in department policies and procedures.
- Verify that money in the safe is accurate at shift end as described in department policies and procedures.
- Receive and place all outgoing and incoming telephone calls.
- Receive all incoming messages for the answering service and relay message to physicians and members of the service.
- Answer the phone properly by greeting in a friendly manner; transferring phone calls when needed; asking the customer if you can place them on hold before transferring.
- Monitor patient traffic to ensure patients do not wait unnecessarily.
- Be knowledgeable of and gather health insurance information for billing purposes.
- Maintains patient confidentiality and adheres to HIPAA guidelines.
- Perform routine typing and clerical duties.
- Make department director aware of all sensitive situations which would affect the department or hospital.
- Other duties as assignment by Management to effectively run the department.
