POSITION SUMMARY:
To provide equitable co-curricular instruction and enrichment to students outside of regular school hours to either further develop a field of study and/or interest or introduce an area of study to enhance the teaching of the whole child.

CERTIFICATES LICENSES AND REGISTRATIONS:
A valid Massachusetts Teaching license in the area of study is preferred.
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
- One year of experience actively participating in project-based/service learning curriculum according to 21st Century Community Learning Centers standards.
- Experience working with children and families from diverse cultural socioeconomic backgrounds and abilities.
- Ability to work with students with special educational and/or social-emotional needs.
- Demonstrated knowledge of computer use and appropriate applications including Google applications.
- Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
- Strong ability to maintain the confidentiality of information.
- Flexible timely able to multitask and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to provide and receive constructive feedback.
- Commitment to teamwork and collaboration with diverse groups of people.
- Ability to build relationships and influence students colleagues and community members.
- Associates Degree preferred or be in pursuit of one.

- Create and facilitate the instructional curriculum aligned with Out-of-School Time Standards as specified by 21st Century Community Learning grant requirements.
- Work with the Coordinator to develop high-quality after-school programming.
- Take daily student attendance.
- Support other team members in ensuring a safe productive and efficient program for staff and students.
- Inspire students to set and achieve ambitious academic and personal goals.
- Hold students to consistently high expectations.
- Create opportunities for students that strengthen the connection between academic success college and career readiness.
- Monitor students academic and social progress and develop annual written assessments.
- Create and reinforce a culture of achievement.
- Plan and manage logistics for events on and off campus.
- Attend quarterly meetings and quarterly professional development.
- Complete bi-annual SAYO pre and post tests based on student performance as set forward by DESE for 21st CCLC.
- Promote an anti-bias student-centered learning environment.
- Perform all other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to move about and may be required to traverse occasionally throughout the school building. The employee must also often remain in a stationary position for considerable periods of time. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms and sit stoop kneel crouch or crawl. The employee is expected to lift at least 20 lbs (i.e. books school supplies etc.). The employee must frequently use hands to finger handle or feel and use hand strength to grasp tools. Occasionally s/he operates a computer and other office productivity machinery (i.e. a calculator copy machine and computer printer). The employee must be able to input information into a computer and as well as read material from a computer monitor as well as handwritten or printed matter with or without visual aids. The employee must be able to communicate effectively with students parents and other staff members in person and on the the classroom the employee must be able to see and hear on a continuous basis in order to ensure the safety of students as well as speak frequently to provide instruction. On rare occasions it may be necessary to move quickly across even or uneven surfaces. The employee will be working in a normal school environment with an acceptable level of noise. The employee interacts with students parents and other staff members. The employee is directly responsible for the safety well-being and work output of students.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
This is a ten-week position during the school year. Framingham Public Schools reserves the right to adjust the assignment duration based on the districts needs. The daily schedule is from 3:00 to 4:30 PM (may vary depending on school dismissal time). Clubs meet one to three times a week depending on the instructors availability. The start date is September 22 2025 and the end date is June 12 2026.
Please review the calendar sent by the Secondary ELT programs coordinator to see the days without programs. The student-to-teacher ratio is up to 20:1 (20 students per 1 teacher).
