The Business Intelligence (BI) Lead will drive our enterprise data strategy and mentor a team of BI this role you will partner with executives and business leaders to translate strategic needs into actionable insights while building scalable BI solutions dashboards and data models. The ideal candidate combines technical expertise with leadership skills to modernize our BI environment ensure data integrity and foster a culture of fact-based decision-making across the organization.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead and mentor a small team of BI Developers and Analysts providing technical guidance and career development
Balance workload across the team ensuring timely delivery of reporting and analytics projects
Design and optimize SQL queries stored procedures and ETL pipelines as needed
Build and enhance Power BI dashboards and datasets ensuring usability and adoption
Contribute to data modeling and data warehouse design driving scalability and performance
Translate business needs from executives and functional leaders (Finance Operations Sales Engineering HR) into BI requirements
Act as a subject matter expert for KPIs metrics and data definitions ensuring consistency across the organization
Partner with application owners to integrate data sources into the data warehouse
Implement and enforce best practices for data governance security and compliance
Promote data quality and integrity ensuring the business can trust the BI outputs
Document BI solutions data models and business logic for long-term maintainability
Shape the BI roadmap balancing near-term deliverables with longer-term strategic initiatives
Introduce new tools practices and methodologies (e.g. CI/CD automation) to modernize the BI environment
Drive adoption of BI across the company fostering a fact-based decision-making culture
EXPECTATIONS:
Excellent communication skills; able to operate comfortably in both technical and executive conversations
Proven ability to balance hands-on technical work with leadership and stakeholder management
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Systems Data Analytics or related field (Masters a plus)
5 years of hands-on experience in BI data warehousing or analytics including 12 years in a leadership or mentoring capacity
Strong SQL development and optimization skills
Experience designing and maintaining ETL pipelines (SSIS or equivalent)
Proficiency with BI tools (Power BI strongly preferred; Tableau or equivalent acceptable)
Familiarity with data governance security and compliance practices
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Will work in an office environment with minimal exposure to dust noise and other environmental hazards. May involve prolonged periods of sitting and frequent use of a computer keyboard and mouse.
Able to lift 50 pounds
Use of company vehicle on occasion. A successful Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) is required.
