Job duties
We are currently seeking a Lead Researcher to join our team of top-notch researchers and engineers to advance the cutting-edge technology in cybersecurity in the telecommunications industry and create impactful solutions for our clients. Applicants are expected to have a track record of successfully completing research projects and delivering customer value. As a researcher at Rakuten you will have the opportunity to join a dynamic team of machine learning deep learning security researchers and computer system researchers and contribute to shaping the future of digital experiences. You will develop creative ideas suitable for academic publications contribute to mentoring interns and driving collaboration programs with universities. Additionally you will collaborate with product teams to implement these ideas into advanced features of Rakutens world-class products and services reaching millions of people worldwide.
Responsibilities
Design develop and implement advanced cybersecurity solutions for cloud-native communication networks in 5G and Beyond 5G.
Create research proposals and communicate with funding agencies and standardization bodies both domestically and internationally.
Manage stakeholders and effectively communicate complex technical ideas.
Lead large-scale projects and collaborate with other researchers product managers and engineers to deliver high-quality results.
Stay up to date with the latest principles and theories and contribute to scientific literature and conferences.
Participate in patent applications development.
Coordinate activities and research initiatives across departments.
Minimum Qualifications
Expertise in technical areas such as RAN Core IoT security machine learning and modeling cyber security technologies cyber security data threat intelligence data analysis cyber hunting cyber fingerprinting recommendation systems decision theory probability statistics and other related technical domains.
Experience in Telecom platform provider/ Telecom service provider/ Cloud platform provider.
At least 10 years of experience in the field of cybersecurity.
Design experience in Telecom network security/Data Centre Security/Public and Private Cloud Platform Security.
Strong knowledge in GSMA/3GPP/ETSI/NIST Cyber Security Specification.
Collaboration and communication skills with teams of different functions including product managers designers researchers engineers and stakeholders.
Demonstrated track record of excellent research achievements and publications in academic journals and conferences.
Ability to work quickly and effectively adapting to priorities and feedback.
Degree in Computer Science Artificial Intelligence Mathematics or related fields.
Preferred Qualification
PhD in Cyber Security Networking or Telecoms domain.
Certifications such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) and Certified Information Security Manager (CISM).
