DescriptionWe are currently looking to fill a new Business Analyst position for a large federal government project. This is not a telecommuting position. We do not sponsor relocation and applicants must be able to commute to Arlington VA.
Job Functions and Responsibilities:
- Ability to work with Government personnel from functional communities and facilitate working groups to document current business practices identify process gaps redesign processes identifying appropriate controls and design automated solutions.
- Can collect and analyze qualitative and quantitative data and information
- Ability to communicate effectively with the customer and other SMEs concerning requirements and have the skills to translate them into functional requirements when needed
- Create and maintain business requirements as needed
- Experience with core PM/BA tools including Microsoft Project Professional Microsoft SharePoint Microsoft Office Professional (Outlook Word Excel Vision Access)
- Experience in consulting with identified project stakeholders and clients to define requirements and clearly articulate business situations that require technical solutions.
- Strong documentation skills required with excellent verbal and presentation skills
- Prepare documentation and other artifacts as required
Minimum Requirements:
- Minimum of a BA/BS required
- Minimum five (5) to seven (7) years of professional experience in functional / business analysis domain.
- Experience with the Department of Veterans Affairs tools processes and frameworks is a plus.
- Strong MS Project Word PowerPoint Excel and Visio.
- Strong Analytical & problem solving skills
- Highly organized/detail-oriented
- Ability to effectively communicate across multiple levels of management
- Ability to work independently at times be self-motivated and results-focused.
- Currently has or can obtain Low Level Security Clearance (NACI)
- Current VA access is highly preferred but not mandatory for this position.
Desired Qualifications
- VA Rational Tools experience is a plus
ResponsibilitiesStandard assignments are accomplished without assistance by exercising independent judgment within defined policies and processes to deliver functional and technical solutions on moderately complex customer engagements.
