Is an internship passionate about changing the worlds energy future intriguing If so we might have just the opportunity youre looking for!
The National Reactor Innovation Center (NRIC) and the Nuclear Engineering Advanced Modeling and Simulation program from the U.S. Department of Energy are collaborating to operate the NRIC Virtual Test Bed. The Virtual Test Bed includes a public repository for simulations of advanced nuclear reactors. These simulations delve into complex multiphysics behavior of these reactors to examine their operational and safety performance. These examples of the use of advanced modeling and simulation tools for nuclear engineering can then be adapted by the community for reactor design or licensing this internship you will expand and deliver additional simulations. This involves collaborating with analyst teams at the Idaho National Laboratory to verify update or upgrade then publish these models online. Reporting to the Computational Frameworks group. This team works a 9x80 schedule and works onsite at our Idaho Falls campus. Start date and duration of internship vary based on project and student availability.
