Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center is an independent nonprofit organization providing adult cancer treatment and groundbreaking research focused on cancer and infectious diseases. Based in Seattle Fred Hutch is the only National Cancer Institute-designated cancer center in Washington.
With a track record of global leadership in bone marrow transplantation HIV/AIDS prevention immunotherapy and COVID-19 vaccines Fred Hutch has earned a reputation as one of the worlds leading cancer infectious disease and biomedical research centers. The National Cancer Institute (NCI) has launched the Cancer Screening Research Network (CSRN) to evaluate emerging technologies for cancer screening. The CSRN will conduct rigorous multi-cancer screening trials in a variety of settings with the ultimate goal of reducing cancer-related illness and deaths. Fred Hutch serves as the coordinating and communications center (CCC) and the statistics and data management center (SDMC) for the CSRN. This position will reside within CCCs Clinical Unit.
The Program Assistant I works under general supervision and uses judgment in carrying-out routine responsibilities within the framework of department/study policies and procedures. This is a part-time position planned for 8-12 hours per week.
Responsibilities
May perform all or some of the following responsibilities:
- Assist in assembly of study-wide specimen kits
- Assist in fulfilling specimen kit orders from study sites nationwide
- Assist supervisor in the daily implementation of department operations and procedures
- Perform some data entry as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school graduation or GED.
- Minimum of one year experience in program specialty or a related field.
- Skills necessary generally will include: organizational skills general office skills (i.e. typing filing phone skills) word processing/computer skills and written and oral communication skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate program - Junior or Senior status preferred.
The hourly pay range for this position is from $22.87 to $32.56 and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.
This position is not eligible for immigration sponsorship. Applicants must already be authorized to work in the US and not require sponsorship now or in the future.
