The Consulting Services division of RubinBrown LLP provides strategic guidance to clients across many industries and business units. The M&A and Valuation Services Intern will perform work in one or both of the service lines below:
- Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A)
- Buy- and sell-side financial due diligence including understanding key accounting policies and analyzing financial data to assess: historical and projected financial and operating trends; quality of earnings; working capital considerations; and potential risks and liabilities all of which can impact valuation of the target company and purchase agreement negotiations.
- Communicate with various external stakeholders including clients target management and ownership teams investment bankers attorneys and other relevant parties.
- Create and contribute to tailored diligence reports communicating our findings and recommendations around key diligence and business issues in the transaction in a clear and concise manner.
- Valuation Services (VS)
- Assist with valuation engagements in a wide variety of industries for the following purposes: financial reporting purposes (ASC 805/ASC 350) gift and estate tax 409A/ASC 718 management planning litigation support and/or M&A.
- Prepare financial and valuation analysis of closely held companies and intangible assets using spreadsheet modeling.
- Gather and analyze industry and comparable company research from public documents.
- Review documents (financial statements legal agreements etc.) from an analytical perspective to strategically assess how they impact the subject interest to be valued.
- Assist with the preparation of written reports

Responsibilities include:

Preferred Experience/Background/Skills
- Enrollment in or completion of a Bachelors or Masters degree in Accounting or a Bachelors or Masters degree in Finance with a minor in Accounting
- Planned graduation (with ability to start a full-time role) May 2027 or earlier
- Coursework or minor in Accounting Finance Economics Information Technology Management and/or Consulting a plus.
- Plans to pursue professional licensure/certification such as CPA or CFA.
Working Conditions
- This is an in-person/hybrid position.
- The typical schedule is 40 hours per week for the duration of the internship. Reduced hours are arranged on a case-by-case basis.
- Typical business hours are Monday to Friday 8:00AM to 5:00PM with a commitment to flexibility and work-life balance. The working schedule for this position will be discussed and finalized with candidates upon successful hiring.

The hourly range displayed is specifically for those potential applicants who will work or reside in the state of Colorado Nevada or Illinois if selected for the role.
This position is a seasonal role with limited benefits eligibility unless required by local state or federal law.
