Job Summary
The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry in the College of Science the University of Texas at Arlington invites applications for an Assistant Associate or Full Professor in the broad area of bioanalytical chemistry applied biochemistry proteomics or metabolomics beginning Fall 2026. Exceptional candidates with a strong record of external funding will be considered for Associate or Full Professor rank. Candidates must have a PhD in Chemistry Biochemistry or related area and postdoctoral experience. We are seeking exceptional candidates whose research expertise lies broadly in bioanalytical chemistry biochemical applications metabolomics proteomics spatial proteomics or multi-omics. Candidates whose work connects to pressing challenges in disease diagnostics therapeutic development and molecular imaging are particularly encouraged to apply. This hire is a part of an omics-related cluster hiring initiative that spans multiple departments within the College of Science. The ideal candidate would add to existing strengths in omic-scale approaches at UTA and benefit from existing and planned expansions of related infrastructure at UTA including the Shimadzu Center for Advanced Analytical Chemistry the Division of Data Science and the North Texas Genome Center. Successful applicants would be expected to be highly research active and to develop an internationally recognized externally funded research program. Applicants are also expected to demonstrate excellence in teaching advising and mentoring undergraduate and graduate students from varying backgrounds. Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Tenure-track faculty are expected to initiate and maintain an externally funded research program and teach undergraduate and graduate chemistry and/or biochemistry courses.
Required Qualifications
Ph.D. in Chemistry Biochemistry or a closely related area. Postdoctoral experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Expertise and interest in bioanalytical chemistry applied biochemistry proteomics metabolomics imaging and omics-related fields.
