Overview
We are seeking two qualified Transportation Inspectors to support the Maryland State Highway Administration (SHA) at the Office of Traffic & Safety. These roles will provide inspection services for traffic and roadway safety projects ensuring compliance with SHA standards specifications and safety requirements.
Responsibilities
Perform field inspections of:
o Traffic signals
o Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS)
o Foundations
o ADA ramps
o Sign structures
Monitor contractor activities for compliance with SHA plans specifications and safety protocols.
Document inspections prepare daily reports and communicate findings to SHA and project teams.
Assist with resolving field issues to ensure quality and timely project delivery.
Coordinate with SHA staff contractors and engineers during active projects.
Qualifications
Prior experience working with the Maryland State Highway Administration (SHA) strongly preferred.
Basic certifications in inspection and/or construction safety (e.g. ATSSA OSHA 10/30 SHA certifications) a plus.
Ability to read and interpret construction plans specifications and safety standards.
Strong communication observation and documentation skills.
Valid drivers license and reliable transportation.
