Job Skills / Requirements

Position Summary

The Recruiting Coordinator I supports day-to-day hiring and onboarding for Janco Janitorial and manages in-person distribution of payroll checks. This role posts jobs screens candidates schedules interviews assists with onboarding paperwork and ensures secure documented check pickup consistent with company policy.

Key Responsibilities

Recruiting & Onboarding

  • Post and refresh jobs (Indeed Facebook referrals); maintain candidate tracker.
  • Screen applications conduct brief phone screens and schedule interviews.
  • Communicate professionally with candidates (bilingual) about schedules locations and requirements.
  • Collect onboarding paperwork (I-9 support/E-Verify initiation direct deposit policies) and prepare new-hire packets.
  • Coordinate start dates badges and orientation logistics with supervisors.

Payroll Check Distribution (In-Person)

  • Organize scheduled pickup windows; announce pickup instructions in English/Spanish.
  • Verify identity (photo ID) before release; obtain employee signature/date/time on a Check Pickup Log.
  • Securely store unclaimed checks; notify employees and supervisors per policy; return/escalate per deadlines.
  • Manage authorized third-party pickups only with signed authorization form and ID verification.
  • Escalate reissue or check problems to Payroll/HR leadership; maintain strict confidentiality and chain-of-custody.

HR & Administrative Support

  • Maintain neat confidential employee and candidate files (digital/paper).
  • Prepare simple weekly reports (open reqs interviews scheduled offers made check pickup status).
  • Provide bilingual support to employees applicants and supervisors.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; some college/HR coursework a plus.
  • 01 year in HR/recruiting/customer service or office admin (service/janitorial a plus).
  • Bilingual English/Spanish required (written and verbal).
  • Organized detail-oriented reliable follow-through; strong customer service.
  • Comfortable learning ATS/HR tools; basic Excel/Docs.

Work Schedule & Environment

  • MondayFriday; occasional evening/weekend support for hiring events or payroll pickup windows.
  • Office environment with periodic travel to local sites.

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods at a computer; occasional lifting up to 20 lbs (files/supplies); local travel.

Work Schedule:
Janco offers flexible shift options based on building needs and client schedules:

  • 1st Shift (Day Shift): Typically between 7:00 AM 3:00 PM

  • 2nd Shift (Evening Shift): Typically between 6:00 PM 11:00 PM

  • 3rd Shift (Overnight Shift): Typically between 10:00 PM 6:00 AM

Most janitorial positions are on 2nd or 3rd shift Sunday through Thursday.
