Position Title: Leadership Team Coordinator
Employment Type: Full Time (32 hours per week)
Salary Range: $60000-$70000 per year
Work Location: Remote; preferably located in the Atlanta metro area
Reports To: Executive Director

About Us

The Center for Third World Organizing is a racial justice organization dedicated to building social justice movements led by people of color. We were established in 1980 as a training and resource center that promotes and sustains direct-action organizing in communities of color in the United States.

We believe in creating a pipeline of organizers that are equipped with both the fundamentals of organizing as well as new innovative and creative tactics & strategies. We believe that those historically marginalized should lead this fight. We are a movement-centered Hub committed to growing the leadership skill and political rigor of organizers working for justice.

Job Responsibilities and Duties

The Leadership Team Coordinator will play a vital role in supporting the Executive Director Leadership Team and staff. This position supports the Executive Director and Leadership Team by coordinating retreats managing executive systems and ensuring seamless administrative and logistical support in partnership with the Operations department. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented organized and able to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced mission-driven environment.

Executive & Administrative Support - 40%

  • Provide day-to-day support to the Executive Director and Leadership Team.
  • Keep calendars organized schedule meetings and make sure leaders have what they need ahead of time.
  • Take notes during leadership meetings and share key points and follow-up tasks with the team.
  • Handle scheduling emails and travel arrangements with outside partners.
  • Submit and track expense reports and reimbursements to keep things running smoothly.
  • Respect confidentiality and handle sensitive information carefully and responsibly.

Leadership Team Coordination 40%

  • Help get Leadership Team meetings (weekly and retreats) ready by creating agendas taking notes and keeping track of follow-up tasks.
  • Keep shared files organized in one central place so everyone can find what they need.
  • Support project planning by tracking deadlines tasks and whos responsible.
  • Use Asana to help the team stay on top of priorities.
  • Handle expense reconciliation and make sure reimbursements are processed on time.

Staff Retreat Coordination 20%

  • Help plan and carry out staff meetings and retreats both virtually and in person.
  • Work with facilitators and the Leadership Team to manage timelines and logistics.
  • Research book and coordinate with CTWO operations team vendors and venues including handling contracts.
  • Gather feedback after each retreat and document key takeaways to improve future planning.

Qualifications

Required:

  • 1-4 years of experience in executive administrative operations or coordination roles.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities with attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with digital tools (Google Workspace Zoom Asana).
  • Commitment to equity justice and values-driven teamwork.
  • Ability to travel 3540% of the time including overnight trips conferences retreats and site visits. Flexibility to travel on occasional evenings and weekends as needed.

Preferred:

  • Experience supporting executives boards or leadership teams.
  • Familiarity with retreat or event planning.
  • Background in nonprofit or movement-based organizations.
  • Familiarity with financial record-keeping.
