Job Description Summary

Serves as Associate Registrar for the School of Law responsible for administering and overseeing all academic policies. Collaborate with the Dean faculty and others on academic policies as needed. Responsible for covering the office in the Registrars absence.

Job Description

Essential Functions:

  • In coordination with the Registrar develops and maintains academic-related policies and procedures providing technical assistance in Workday Student entering grades and ensuring the verification process registration and degree audit processes are accurate and and processes documentation to certify students for bar admission.

  • Interprets implements advises and troubleshoots academic policies for students faculty and staff.

  • Works with the University Registrars office serving as an enrollment and degree certifying official and compliance officer.

  • Prepares the Workday Student system for registration which includes entering the course schedule ensuring the accuracy of course information across all sites and setting up registration appointments for students in the various programs.

  • Performs end-of-term processing to ensure that all information is up to date including final semester grades academic standing rank and academic grade reports and transcripts with the updated information.

  • Coordinates with Information Systems to ensure the successful implementation of ongoing projects and day-to-day operations. Aids in implementing changes to enhance our office processes.

  • Assists in the development and testing of reports for faculty administration and outside entities as requested.

  • Verifies information to external agencies that comply with all FERPA policies.

  • Maintains and tracks historical bar information for internal reporting.

  • Assists with the preparation for the Law Hooding and graduation ceremony.

  • Monitors the academic retention processes.

  • Guides the administration of exams and trains proctors.

  • Provides excellent customer service in the performance of duties.

Other Functions:

  • Solves problems associated with assisting students faculty and other members of staff while maintaining a normal workload.

  • Assists the Registrar in the formation and administration of policies within the office as well as policies across the rest of the University.

  • Special projects.

  • Collects and analyzes data as requested by Deans and Faculty Committees.

Required Education Knowledge Skills Abilities:

  • Bachelors degree and three to five years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Experience in a Registrars Office in a Higher Education setting (i.e. student records and the student lifecycle: matriculation registration degree audit grading and graduation) and with Student Information Systems.

  • Strong communication skills both oral and written as well as the ability to work within deadlines while exercising sound judgment tact and professionalism.

  • Ability to contribute to an equitable and collaborative work environment.

  • Physical Requirements: sedentary work; fingering grasping talking hearing and repetitive motions. Close visual acuity. Not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.

Preferred Education Knowledge Skills Abilities:

  • Masters degree plus three to five years experience as an Assistant or Associate Registrar.

  • Experience working at an accredited Law School and Law Registrars Office.

  • Working knowledge of Workday Student.

Accountabilities:

  • Responsible for own work.

  • Budgetary responsibilities.
