If so the Castro Valley Sanitary District welcomes your application as Engineering Technician.

An Engineering Technician with Castro Valley Sanitary District performs a wide variety of technical field and office duties and provides operational support and assistance for the Engineering Department including performing sanitary sewer inspections providing technical advice to the public maintaining engineering records preparing reports performing basic engineering calculations and related work as assigned.

In addition the ideal candidate will:

Have the ability to provide exceptional customer service support to internal and external customers and business partners.
Be an exceptional project manager who can manage multiple competing priorities while developing effective presentations and reports.
Perform complex construction inspections to confirm contractual compliance with engineering and construction standards. Conduct inspections of construction and repair of public and private collection system components and CVSan facilities for compliance with CVSan Code Alameda County building regulations the Unform Plumbing Code and other regulations.
Have experience reading and reviewing project plans to determine dimensions of system and material requirements.
Have basic skills with Microsoft Word excel Outlook AutoCAD GIS and other data entry systems.

Minimum Qualifications

Education:Equivalent to the completion of two years of college-level coursework in civil engineering and/or drafting.

AND

Experience: Two years of experience in the field OR office engineering technical support OR drafting which has provided familiarity with engineering drafting surveying map checking construction inspection materials testing and basic engineering design.

Licenses: Must possess valid California Class C drivers license ANDhave and maintain a satisfactory driving record.

Certification: Must obtain confined space certification. Must possess or obtain Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation AED and First Aid certificates within a time period specified by CVSan.

Other Requirements: Willingness and ability to work scheduled and emergency overtime; attend meetings workshops and seminars during work and non-work hours as assigned.

ABOUT CASTRO VALLEY SANITARY DISTRICT:

The Castro Valley Sanitary District (CVSan) is a small public agency organized under the Health and Safety Code of the State of California. As a California Special District CVSan has responsibility for the operation and maintenance of the sanitary sewer collection system within the unincorporated community of Castro Valley. CVSan also is in charge of the administration of a refuse collection franchise the CVSans 25% interest in a wastewater treatment facility implementation and administration of State and local mandated recycling programs as well as participation in sub-regional wastewater discharge and solid/hazardous waste management agencies.
