Applied Technology Services (ATS) is an IT systems integrator and has been a trusted partner to customers in the Mid-Atlantic region for 20 years. We have core competencies in Enterprise Modernization Infrastructure Services End User Computing Workforce Optimization Cyber Security Solutions and IT Staffing. ATS provides a wide array of professional and managed services from the data center to the desktop. ATS holds minority certifications in Delaware Maryland the District of Columbia Pennsylvania and Virginia and is a Third-Party Certified Women Owned Small Business (WOSB)

Applied Technology Services (ATS) seeking an IT Project ideal candidate must possess the following:

  • Thorough knowledge of the principles and practices of Project Management andprogram planning.
  • Thorough knowledge of processes methods and techniques utilized to analyze andevaluate business operations.
  • Thorough knowledge of the principles and practices of planning developingimplementing and supporting computer information systems and programs.
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of the principles and methodologies defined inof the Project Management Book of Knowledge (PMBOK)
  • Degree from an accredited college with a bachelors degree in Project ManagementBusiness or Public Administration Computer Science Communications or a relatedfield.
  • At least five years of experience as a project manager business analyst changemanagement analyst systems analyst or closely related experience in the analysis ofinformation technology organizations and systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates and guides projects throughout their project lifecycle includingsystemsand processesdesign.
  • Ensures that projects are completed in accordance with established scope deadlinesbudgets and technical standards.
  • Prepares appropriate project and supporting documentation throughout the projectlifecycle.
  • Manages the identification of risks and issues for proper resolution to ensure successfulproject implementations.
  • Builds relationships with project sponsors stakeholders technical staff vendors andend users.
  • Takes ownership for a variety of project initiatives and communications in parallel.
  • Works alongside project sponsors stakeholders and team members to gather business requirements plan for change management and participate in development andimplementation of new solutions or enhancements to existing systems.
  • Drives the formulation of business and testing requirements.
  • Generates and compiles documentation for business processes and operationalprocedures and makes recommendations for improvements.
  • Maps current AS IS business processes and facilitates workshops to research futureTO BE processes.
  • Manages vendor implementations and ensures all milestones and deliverables are metin accordance to the Statement of Work and adherence to BCPS technical specificationsand data sharing requirements.
  • Participates in continuous improvement activities by identifying and analyzing theeffectiveness and efficiency of existing processes and develops strategies forimprovements.
  • Produces status reports and communications on a regular basis.


Required Skills:

  • Skill in analyzing and evaluating administrative processes for automation.
  • Skill in designing and documenting automated processes.
  • Skill in the operation of computers and peripheral equipment.
  • Knowledge and understanding in application and system programming.
  • Knowledge of personal computers Microsoft Office suite of tools including; WordExcel PowerPoint Visio and MS Project.
  • Knowledge of programming concepts and the Systems Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to analyze and evaluate the feasibility and suitability of information technologyprojects.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Ability to coordinate the work of a team with the work of other units within the Office ofInformation Technology and County agencies.
  • Ability to develop needs assessments and prepare administrative reports.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
