Our Approach

• Kollmorgen Internship Program provides an accelerated training and professional development for college students who wish to pursue a career in Manufacturing Design Sales or Product Development. The program will give students the opportunity to get exposed to the various facets of Kollmorgens lean manufacturing environment. The program will build on your technical skills by providing you a role with significant responsibility as well as exposure to experienced business leaders mentors and subject matter experts.
• Based upon the success of the internship the Intern will be offered a full-time position with Kollmorgen.

Assignments

• Likely assignments can include Manufacturing Engineer Quality Engineer Applications Engineer Software Engineer and Test & Automation Engineer.
• Below is a description of a few of these potential assignments. Selection of the assignment will involve the participants preference availability of the assignment and the needs of the specific responsibilities within each assignment may vary based upon the immediate needs of the business.

Software Engineer

• A Software Engineer at Kollmorgen designs PC or embedded software for industrial motion control products. PC software is used for advanced analysis and configuration of motion controllers. Embedded software performs servo motor control reads sensor data and communicates on high-speed device networks. Kollmorgen software is the programmable brains of machines in industrial scientific and medical applications worldwide! Kollmorgen software teams use advanced development techniques such as sprints retrospectives unit testing refactoring and fully automated build & test systems. Kollmorgen software engineers become highly skilled experts in fields like control systems user interface design protocol design and embedded computing.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

• Pursuing a 4-year Engineering degree.
• Must have strong written and oral communication skills for direct and frequent communication with internal and external customers and suppliers.
• Must have good interpersonal skills for our multi-functional team environment.
• Ability to work with all levels including management and production personnel to resolve technical issues that are identified through the manufacturing process.
