Job Description
The Opportunity:
Avantor is looking for a Logistics Operative to join our team based in Cambridge. In this position youll take ownership of shipping inventory and documentation: archiving maintaining records and preparing reports.
This role will be a full-time permanent position based in a brand-new facility at the customer site - The Discovery Centre Bio-Medical Campus in Cambridge. Working hours: Monday to Friday core hours
The Team
Youll join a close-knit team of 7 Logistics Technicians. Youll belong to our business department Lab and Product Services which supports big pharmaceutical companies and laboratories all over the world in Research and Development within the Life Sciences industry.
What were looking for
Education: GCSE or equivalent secondary school qualification
Experience:
Minimum 2 years in material handling inventory replenishment or customer service within a logistics environment
Solid understanding of shipping inventory or purchasing processes
Desirable: Spill containment training IATA DOT IMDG
Strong commitment to safety quality and compliance
Proficiency in Microsoft Word Excel and Outlook
How youll thrive and create an impact
Coordinating general deliveriesfrom the basement sorting hub to various laboratories.
Providing excellent customer serviceto internal end users.
Receiving restricted goods(e.g. HBS RMS GCB radiation and controlled materials) maintaining chain of custody records and managing both digital and physical archiving.
Executing time-critical specialist tasks such as:
Filling scientific equipment withliquid nitrogen
Managingfixed daily delivery runs
Handlingcryogenic deliveries
Utilizing tracking softwareto monitor the movement of samples and goods.
Collecting internal lab samplesfor processing and external dispatch.
Recording internal auditsfor sequencing sample movements.
Managing inter-laboratory sample distributionand internal goods movement.
Receipting goodsinto tracking systems to ensure traceability.
Analyzing datarelated to scientific equipment usage and consumption trends.
