POSITION: A probationary tenure-track faculty position at the rank of assistant professor is available in the Department of Economics in the College of Arts and Sciences. The department seeks a candidate with expertise in economics committed to teaching excellence and maintaining an active research program involving undergraduates. This appointment carries an initial two-year probationary appointment b

beginning with the 2025/2026 academic year August17 2025.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Earned doctorate in economics by Aug 17th 2025. The successful candidate must be willing and able to teach the principles of microeconomics macroeconomics and upper-division economics classes as needed and promote inclusiveness and diversity in the classroom the department and the university community.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Evidence of successful university teaching willingness to teach 300-level economics courses in international economics sports economics or a course in the economics of gender and race.

DUTIES: Teach courses in the Department of Economics based on program needs and in accordance with specialization; participate in research and scholarly activities; develop and/or maintain a scholarly research agenda that includes undergraduate co-researchers; provide academic advising to students as assigned; engage in service to the department University and profession.

DEPARTMENT: The Department of Economics has 7 full-time faculty and staff members and roughly 100 students majoring or minoring in 3 programs.
