Job Title: MRI Technologist Part-Time Contract

Location: New York NY 10029

Hours: 15 per week 7.5 hours per shift
Schedule: Saturday & Sunday 12:00am8:00am

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced MRI Technologist to join our radiology team. This role involves performing magnetic resonance imaging procedures using advanced equipment ensuring diagnostic-quality images and maintaining the highest standards of patient care and safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform MRI imaging procedures in accordance with established protocols.

• Position patients and coils for optimal imaging results.

• Educate patients regarding procedures preparation and expectations.

• Review safety questionnaires prior to introducing patients into the MRI scan room.

• Label MRI images per department SOP and ensure timely transmission to PACS.

• Evaluate images for technical quality and accuracy.

• Maintain documentation and patient tracking within the Radiology Information System (IDX).

• Ensure cleanliness of MRI rooms and equipment including handling soiled linen.

• Manage supplies and accessories needed for safe imaging.

• Report equipment issues or unsafe conditions promptly.

• Assist physicians during procedures as needed.

• Perform clerical tasks in the absence of support staff.

• Maintain MRI safety standards and infection control protocols.

• Participate in required in-service training and professional development.

• Maintain current licensure and certifications in compliance with regulatory requirements.

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong background in cross-sectional anatomy physiology MR physics and physical sciences.

• Excellent technical imaging skills.

• Minimum 2 years of MRI experience required.

• Experience with specific scanner platforms required.

Education & Certification

• Graduate of an AMA/J.C.E.R.T. approved Radiologic Technology program.

• Licensure/Certification:

  • New York State License in Diagnostic Radiology

  • ARRT Certification in MRI

  • BCLS Certification

Additional Information

• This is a weekend overnight role (Saturday & Sunday 12:00am8:00am).

• Only candidates with 2 years of MRI experience and prior scanner experience will be considered.
