How youll contribute
A Unit Secretary who excels in this role:
Establish positive relationships with patient/families/visitors and all members of the healthcare team.
Answer phone calls in a timely manner greet and direct visitors.
Report concerns accurately and concisely to appropriate care team member.
Greet physicians and assist in directing to assigned nurse.
Maintain patients thin folder.
Organize and maintain work environment.
Conemaugh Connect my chart; assist patient initial setup.
Follow standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required for patient care.
Perform secretarial and technical skills required to meet unit specific requirements.
Provide Conemaugh Connect Epic support for physicians and extenders.
Maintain confidentiality of all patient hospital and employee related information.
Consider factors related to safety effectiveness and cost for delivery of patient care.
Assist member of the health care team with assigned tasks that support patient care.
Actively participate in patient engagement initiatives.
