Location: Colorado Springs CO (United States Air Force Acacemy)

Type: Non-Exempt

Work Schedule: Full Time Day Shift

Compensation: $33.65 - $38.46/hourly dependent on experience

Deadline: December 31 2025

Tessera is seeking a dedicated detail-driven and mission-minded Accountant to support the Base Maintenance Contract (BMC) at the U.S. Air Force Academy. This is a vital role for someone who takes pride in precision thrives in a collaborative environment and is passionate about contributing to a high-impact federal operation. The ideal candidate will bring integrity initiative and a commitment to excellence in financial and administrative supporthelping ensure smooth operations and compliance across all facets of the contract.

Typical duties include but are not limited to:

  • Prepare journal entries and reconcile bank and ledger accounts
  • Process accounts payable and subcontractor invoices in a timely and accurate manner
  • Maintain financial data in Maximo and other systems; ensure alignment with contract requirements
  • Assist with monthly closings and financial reporting
  • Track preventive maintenance payments and credit card receipts
  • Support payroll administration and employee license tracking
  • Maintain base access documentation and credentialing for subcontractors
  • Assist Site Manager with scheduling reporting and internal communications
  • Coordinate onboarding and compliance documentation for staff and subcontractors
  • Support special projects audits and workflow improvements
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism across all work environment

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or related field preferred
  • 35 years of accounting experience preferably in facilities maintenance or federal contracting
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel Word Outlook); experience with Maximo preferred
  • Strong attention to detail organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines
  • Understanding of GAAP and federal acquisition regulations (FAR)
  • Ability to interpret legal and financial documents
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with subcontractor oversight and contract compliance
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment

Physical Requirements:

Employees must have the ability to perform the following physical demands for extended periods of time with or without assistance. The physical demands of this position may be reasonably accommodated for individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions on a case-by-case basis.

  • May be required to reach kneel walk stand and use repetitive motion for several hours at a time based on position duties.
  • Work may require repetitive motion reaching lifting kneeling and walking. Standing or sitting for several hours at a time climbing in and out of a vehicle and up and down stairs may also be required.
  • Must have the perseverance to work effectively under pressure for extended periods of time.
