Day - 08 Hour (United States of America)Are you ready to take your career to the next level in a vibrant and innovative healthcare environment Stanford Health Care is on the lookout for a passionate MOHS Technician who thrives on making a difference in patients lives. With a minimum of two years of experience as a MOHS Technician or Histotechnician along with a valid Medical Assistant Certification you have the skills we need to elevate our dermatology services.
Embed tissue
Cut frozen section blocks while maintaining a high-quality product.
Cut high quality 37-micron sections of small and difficult tissue specimens
Prepare non-melanoma Mohs blocks for permanent sections
Properly dispose of liquid hazardous waste
Comply with all applicable health and safety policies
Perform quality control on sections and staining procedures to ensure a high-quality finished product
Perform routine H&E stains.
Complete daily H&E quality check
Filing Mohs tissue slides
Function as a PCC to assist in Mohs surgery.
Performs other duties as requested
Education Qualifications
High school diploma or GED equivalent
Medical Assistant Certificate/Diploma from an approved school/institution or equivalent documented training
Experience Qualifications
1-2 years Medical Assistant experience

Knowledge of and ability to use and apply medical terminology in performing his/her duties.
Knowledge of computer systems and software used in functional area.
Ability to speak and write effectively at a level appropriate for the job.

Ability to demonstrate customer service skills in interactions with all patients families and staff including high volume and stressful situations.
Ability to work independently as well as an integral part of the patient care team.
Ability to follow instructions and standard operating procedures.
Ability to demonstrate business communication skills including speak and write effectively at a level appropriate for the job (including legible penmanship/handwriting knowledge of grammar and syntax and ability to write clear and concise clinical reports)
Ability to learn and grasp and update clinical knowledge on a regular basis (through HealthStream classes continuing education and other work-related courses and training) to adapt to an ever-changing healthcare environment.

Base Pay Scale: Generally starting at $48.38 - $54.48 per hourThe salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors including but not limited to internal equity experience education specialty and training. This pay scale is not a promise of a particular wage.
