JOB TITLE: Career Prep Student Career and Technical Education

REPORTS TO: CTE Director
WAGE/HOUR STATUS: Nonexempt / Part-time
PRIMARY PURPOSE:
The Career Prep Student assists the CTE department with clerical duties.
Spring ISD employees are expected to act with integrity support and demonstrate our core
values communicate in a clear and respectful manner and seek to continuously improve self-performance and processes.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
- Spring ISD Junior or Senior High School Student
Preferred:
- Business Management Pathway Student
SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:
- Skills to operate standard office equipment
- Use English in both written and verbal forms
- Use correct spelling grammar and punctuation
- Perform basic arithmetic calculations
- Ability to file accurately
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Assist the CTE Director and CTE Administrative team with daily office procedures
- Sort and deliver mail
- Assist with data entry and filing
- Scan and record-keeping
- Help with setting up events
- Ensure office supplies are maintained
- Ensure timely and proper shredding of sensitive material
- Answer phone mail and assist requested information
- Must work a minimum of 15 hours per week
- Other duties as assigned
WORKING/SPECIAL CONDITIONS:
This position requires a person that is able to maintain emotional control under stress. The usual and customary methods of performing this job require the following: ability to work in a fast-paced high-intensity work environment efficiently and effectively with frequent interruptions. The job may require prolonged periods of time sitting reaching and repetitive hand motions; prolonged use of the computer.
Duties performed require considerable initiative and tact. The position requires leadership
qualities such as: adaptability flexibility dependability and accountability. Maintain confidential information and frequent contact with all levels within and outside of the district.
