Wage: $17/hour

Youth Services Mentor

JOB HIGHLIGHTS

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 1 year work experience with individuals and/or children with disabilities required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge in the modifications adaptation and use of specialized equipment
  • General knowledge of computer uses and programs required

Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrated ability to teach others. Including Daily Living Skills social skills and community involvement
  • Assist and support children and youth with disabilities in becoming actively involved in their communities develop friendships and independent use of community resources
  • Regularly provide opportunities for inclusion through planned activities social interactions exposure advocacy training and education as identified in the assessment and planning process
  • Provide assistance with personal care tasks as needed (i.e. mobility eating bathroom etc.)
  • Be knowledgeable in and able to document properly on all individual services provided daily in the required time limit and format
  • Ability to maintain open respectful and clear communication with the participant their families and supervisor
  • Meet all necessary training requirements
  • Transport and accompany individuals to community activities in company or personal vehicles
  • Must pass WI caregiver background check
  • Valid Drivers License
  • Ability to work flexible/non-standard schedule (including some evenings and weekends)
  • This position requires use of a company email address which requires an application to be downloaded on your personal cell phone for multi-factor authentication (MFA) to ensure cyber security.
  • Reliable vehicle (unless determined exempt with HR.)
