VISION ENGINEER

DUNCAN S.C.

NATURE OF WORK: The Vision Engineer will be Lears expert engineer for all vision applications. The candidate will use their vast knowledge experience and resourcefulness to choose the correct vision system for each application. The candidate will develop the concept design the system install train the receiving plant and provide support for the vision system post handoff to the plant.

EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED:

(The following duties are typical for this classification. However any one position may not include all duties listed nor do the examples cover all duties which may be performed.)

  • Following health safety environmental regulations and safety protocols (LOTO)
  • Building mutual trust respect and cooperation among all team members
  • Communicating across cross-functional groups
  • Being responsible for projects from technical specification to startup support
  • Designing and developing all aspects of vision control systems equipment and programming using Lear standards and build upon with innovative ideas
  • Writing implementing and debugging PLC software
  • Providing support to existing Lear vision equipment globally
  • Developing contingency and disaster recovery plans
  • Creating training documentation

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Three years experience in a controls/vision engineering role.
  • Must be a self-starter team player work well with others and have a positive attitude
  • Must be a creative thinker results oriented focused and attentive to detail and accuracy
  • Proficient in RSLogix5000 Studio5000 and FactoryTalk View Studio
  • Knowledgeable of Keyence & Cognex cameras
  • Must have ability to prioritize multi-task and meet deadlines
  • C or C Programming capabilities
  • Knowledge on machine learning with AI capabilities
  • Self-driven and willingness to work long hours during installations if required
  • Willingness to travel globally up to 30-50%
