Sofidel a global leader in the production of tissue products for domestic and hygienic use is committed to sustainability innovation and operational excellence. We are seeking a Converting Shift Supervisor to oversee operations in our tissue converting department.
This role will lead shift personnel manage line efficiency enforce safety and quality standards and ensure reliable equipment performance. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with proven supervisory experience in industrial manufacturing preferably in tissue or paper converting operations.
Supervise converting operations during assigned shifts to ensure safe efficient and high-quality output.
Lead and develop shift team members fostering a culture of safety accountability and continuous improvement.
Conduct daily safety talks and enforce protocols including PPE compliance Lockout/Tagout Confined Space Entry and chemical handling procedures.
Monitor production schedules and allocate resources to achieve or exceed shift targets.
Troubleshoot and resolve converting equipment or process issues to minimize downtime and maintain product quality.
Ensure proper documentation of production data incidents and maintenance activities.
Maintain effective communication between shifts and with other departments (maintenance quality logistics).
Support staffing needs employee training performance evaluations and disciplinary actions as required.
Associates or Bachelors degree preferred.
Minimum of 5 years experience in tissue converting or a related industrial manufacturing environment.
At least 3 years of supervisory or team lead experience preferably in a unionized or shift-based operation.
Strong mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of tissue converting and packaging processes.
Excellent leadership communication and decision-making skills.
Familiarity with quality control systems and continuous improvement methodologies.
Experience with maintenance systems such as JD Edwards is a plus.
Ability to work in a fast-paced industrial setting with exposure to noise heat and heavy equipment.
Regular standing walking and climbing required; PPE use is mandatory.
