Main Purpose of Job

The main purpose of this position is to develop curriculum for and provide attainment services to patients admitted into the Competency/Facility for Children (FFC) program at John L. Gildner RICA (JLG-RICA).

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: ABachelors degree from an accredited college or university with 30 credit hoursin mental health health human services education or related behavioralsciences including six credit hours in psychology counseling addictions ormental health.

Experience:None.

Notes:

1.A Masters degree froman accredited college or university in mental health health human serviceseducation or related behavioral sciences may be substituted for the requirededucation.

2. Candidates may substitute Forces military serviceexperience as a commissioned officer inMental Addictions orBehavioral Health Counseling and PsychologyclassificationsorMental Addictions or Behavioral Health Counselingand Psychologyspecialty codes in the counseling field of work onayear-for-year basis for the requirededucation.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

The desired candidate should possess the following:
  • Experience working with adolescents with emotional disabilities and court involved youth
  • Experience providing attainment services to patients

LICENSES REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

in thisclassification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motorvehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess amotor vehicle operators license valid in the State of Maryland.

in thisclassification may be required to successfully complete cardiopulmonaryresuscitation training and maintain current certification.

inthis classification may be assigned duties in a swimming assigned such duties may be required to obtain certification in LifeSaving and Water Safety.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
