Role Overview
We are seeking a seasoned SQL Server Database Administrator (DBA) with 8 10 years of hands-on experience in managing complex database environments. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the performance availability and security of SQL Server databases across enterprise systems. This role demands deep expertise in high availability (HA) disaster recovery (DR) performance tuning and real-time production support.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain SQL Server databases ensuring optimal performance and uptime.
- Configure and monitor database servers and processes including health checks and performance metrics.
- Perform query optimization index tuning and regular database maintenance activities.
- Design implement and manage HA and DR solutions to ensure business continuity.
- Enforce database security policies and maintain access controls.
- Oversee backup strategies restore procedures and recovery models.
- Provide 24x7 support for critical production systems and resolve issues promptly.
- Collaborate with development teams for query tuning schema design and deployment planning.
- Maintain detailed documentation of database configurations procedures and change logs.
- Proficiency in SQL Server administration performance tuning and optimization.
- Experience with HA and DR configurations (e.g. Always On Log Shipping Mirroring).
- Strong understanding of Windows Server environments including Active Directory integration.
- Familiarity with database security backup and recovery best practices.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex database issues under pressure.
- MCTS (Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist)
- MCITP (Microsoft Certified IT Professional)
- MVP (Microsoft Most Valuable Professional) optional but highly valued
