Job Summary
Location: Atlanta GA - Onsite
Type: Contract or Full-time
We are seeking a Backstage Platform Engineer to design build and scale our internal developer portal. This role focuses on creating self-service capabilities centralizing workflows and improving overall developer productivity and autonomy. You will lead plugin development CI/CD and cloud integrations and TechDocs enablement while ensuring the platform is reliable secure and scalable.
Core Responsibilities-
Platform Management: Deploy configure and maintain the Backstage developer portal ensuring performance reliability and security.

Plugin Development: Build and customize plugins using TypeScript and React integrating Backstage with internal and external tools.

Service Catalog: Configure and maintain the Software Catalog to manage services infrastructure components and documentation.

CI/CD & Cloud Integration: Integrate with pipelines and cloud platforms (AWS GCP Azure) to enable seamless delivery and observability.

Developer Experience: Create Software Templates using Scaffolder for standardized project bootstrapping and implement TechDocs for centralized documentation.

Strong programming expertise in TypeScript JavaScript and

Experience with React for frontend development

Proficiency with at least one major cloud platform (AWS Azure or GCP)

Familiarity with CI/CD tools Kubernetes and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform preferred)

Background in developer productivity platforms internal portals or DevEx engineering is highly desirable
