Job Description: The File Hills QuAppelle Tribal Council is a dynamic and progressive organization that provides a range of programs and health services which serve eleven First Nations throughout Southern Saskatchewan within the Treaty Four Territory. The position is based at the All Nations Healing Hospital located in Fort QuAppelle SK.
Under the direction of the Director of Programs and Community Services this position requires a creative and knowledgeable individual to provide nutrition services and counseling within the diabetes program as well as working with the health team in planning implementing and evaluating community nutrition services and programs. This position will provide community based nutrition services to 10 Nations of the File Hills QuAppelle Tribal Council.
Responsibilities
Provision of diabetes and chronic disease counseling and programming
Collaboration with communities to provide nutrition education and programming
Promotion of food security education and programs as well as supporting grant application work
Flexibility in responding to requests for nutrition programs and presentations to address community needs
Develop work plans and report on program activities as well as develop resources and education sessions as requested.
Support of clinical nutrition in acute care setting
Travel Required: Yes
Education
Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and an approved dietetic internship or equivalent
Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE) Certification an asset
Licenses
Eligible for registration in the Saskatchewan College of Dietitians
Other Information
Experience working in Community Nutrition an asset
Respect and sensitivity of First Nations culture and traditions
Must possess a valid drivers license
