Position Summary
The TOP Advisor powers the potential of TRIO students at Oregon Tech by providing holistic and wrap-around advising support to a caseload of up to approximately 75 students. This position teaches student success seminar classes coordinates Tech Opportunities Program ( TOP ) events and manages student peer mentor staff. This position also collaborates cross-institutionally and community-wide with program stakeholders in referring program participants to services.
Preferred Qualifications
One year of experience providing direct service or advising low-income first-generation or disabled populations. Masters degree in Education Counseling Public Health Social Work Psychology Sociology. Student Affairs or related area. OR; Bachelors degree in Public Health Social Work Psychology Sociology Student Affairs AND 5 years of experience in education or social services (or combined). Two years of experience advising college students. Experience working or participating in programs for historically excluded students such as TRIO . Bi-lingual Spanish language fluency.
