Civil Engineer Co-Op - Spring 2026 (Jan - May)

Our Civil Engineering team is excited to add a student for the Spring semester. You will work alongside talented and knowledgeable civil engineers who are registered in several states who will help kickstart your career in a dynamic and people-centered AE (architectural & engineering) consulting firm. If you enjoy the design aspect of Civil Engineering for industrial spaces or have an interest in learning about it this role is a great fit for you.
Responsibilities
- Assists in gathering field dataand capital cost estimating when needed
- With supervision uses design criteria document(s) to meet the project objectives
- Ensures quality and technical accuracy of assigned deliverables
- Follows the BSI Standard Operating Procedures and Client Standards
- With supervision performs necessary calculations and design effort to prepare deliverables
- Coordinates work with civil associates on a project
- Meets individual schedule and budget objectives on assigned projects
- Designof earthwork pavement underground utilities storm water management erosion control methodologies
- With supervision selects appropriate construction materials
- With supervision participates in construction support startup and commissioning efforts
- Interfaces with other design discipline counterparts and project management as needed
- Occasionally interfaces with local authority having jurisdiction (AHJ) for permitting coordination
- Occasionally interfaces with outside consultants and contractors (geotechnical engineers surveyors construction contractors)
- Learning the role of other disciplines and overall project requirements during the project lifecycle
- With supervision may participate in multi-discipline squad checks of deliverables before issuance
- Identifies and communicates scope change for discipline
- Continually communicates their individual forecasted staffing requirements for their assigned projects
Requirements
- Pursuing a bachelors degree in Civil Engineering
- Completed at least 4 semesters of related engineering courses
- Prior co-op experience preferred
- Developing written and oral communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks
- Strong ability to analyze and critically assess problems
- Understanding civil engineering concepts and principles and gaining familiarity with all necessary codes
- Gaining knowledge of construction materials construction methods and industry standards
- Gaining civil design experience including storm water analysis underground utility and three-dimensional modeling.
