FULL TIME LOT PORTER
MONDAY - FRIDAY
9:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Key responsibilities
- Vehicle management:
- Move vehicles between the showroom service bay new and used car lots and storage facilities.
- Organize and park cars in designated areas according to the dealership display standards.
- Deliver vehicles to customers or other locations as required.
- Test drive vehicles to check for issues and perform minor inspections for damage.
- Lot maintenance:
- Keep the vehicle lots and service areas near and orderly by picking up trash and clearing debris.
- Maintain the interior and exterior appearance of the new used and service vehicles which can include washing and vacuuming.
- Perform light maintenance tasks on inventory vehicles such as replenishing fluids checking tire pressure and ensuring batteries are charged.
- Set up vehicles for display by placing stock tags and buyer guides on them.
- Interact with customers in a friendly and professional manner.
- Operational support:
- Run various errands for different departments such as sales service and parts.
- Manage and organize vehicle keys.
Required skills and qualifications
- Drivers license and driving record: Must possess a valid drivers license and a clean driving record. The ability to drive both automatic and manual transmission vehicles.
- Attention to detail: A lot porter must be meticulous in tracking vehicle locations inspecting vehicles for damage and maintaining the cleanliness of the lot.
- Organizational skills: Excellent organizational and time-management skills are necessary to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Communication: Strong communication skills are needed to interact effectively with customers managers and other dealership employees.
- Physical endurance: The role involves working outdoors in various weather conditions standing for long periods and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Work ethic: Dealerships look for trustworthy reliable and motivated individuals who can handle a wide range of duties.
