The Department of Computer Science in the College of Social Sciences Mathematics and Education at The University of Tampa invites applications for a full-time Visiting Assistant Teaching Professor position for the 2025-26 academic year beginning in January 2026.
The B.S. in Computer Science is a rapidly growing program that welcomed its inaugural class in 2021-22. This position offers an exciting opportunity to help shape the direction of a young and evolving program committed to excellence in undergraduate education.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will:
- Hold a Ph.D. in Computer Science or a closely related field (ABD considered).
- Possess a broad background in computer science.
- Demonstrate potential for outstanding teaching strong written and oral communication skills and a commitment to high academic standards.
- Have experience teaching undergraduates (preferred).
- Exhibit the ability to work both independently and collaboratively with excellent organizational and leadership skills.
- Be committed to remaining current in the field.
Responsibilities
The teaching load is four 4-credit undergraduate courses per semester including both core and elective offerings. Additional responsibilities include:
- Advising students and contributing to curriculum development.
- Participating in program assessment and departmental service.
- Supporting the mission of the Department College and University through collegial engagement and community involvement.
The successful candidate will be a dynamic and inclusive educator committed to engaging teaching and meaningful student mentorship. Innovative teaching approaches are welcome and a strong emphasis is placed on teaching excellence and service.
