Job description
The teams goal is to provide tools for IT development based on DevOps practices. The DevOps team has members in Paris Bangalore and Montreal. To ensure best practices in terms of reliability resilience and performance of the application hosting environment infrastructure an SRE team has been set up. This team focuses on automating cloud infrastructure provisioning platform monitoring legacy infrastructure migration and other initiatives aimed at improving service performance and reducing incidents.
To promote agility software excellence and DevOps practices within the bank the DevOps team provides developers with a comprehensive suite of tools and platforms. This includes the integrated development environment (IDE) software development kits (SDKs) and administration of GIT Jenkins/TeamCity Jira Nexus Sonar and XLDeploy servers both on-premise and on Azure.
Responsibilities
Support and Adoption:
- Ensure the stability and availability of software factory services and tools;
- Comply with platform SLAs in a Follow-The-Sun (FTS) support model; Operate services in accordance with security rules;
- Communicate effectively about incidents and planned updates;
- Help application teams adopt best practices to industrialize their continuous integration (CI) and continuous delivery (CD) pipelines;
- Support application teams in using the CI/CD tools provided;
Development and Evolution of the Offering:
- Develop prototypes and conduct proofs of concept (POC) to validate new tools;
- Install update and maintain tools and new instances;
- Reduce support workload through increased automation and the use of chatbots;
- Contribute to the evolution of the offering on Microsoft Azure Public Cloud
- Define and implement monitoring indicators to establish SLOs/SLAs/SLIs and track application performance.
Knowledge Sharing:
- Contribute to documentation and promote the proper use of tools;
- Write internal processes to improve support efficiency;
- Promote best practices on the Continuous Delivery platform and participate in the Test and Deployment community;
- Be the regional expert (AMER) on CI/CD tools providing advice and support.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in Linux Bash Python Jenkins Git and monitoring tools;
- Minimum 5 years of experience in developing or administering Software Factory tools;
- Autonomy: able to lead meetings with users represent the department to application managers and escalate issues if necessary;
- Ability to understand internal tools prioritize tasks track ongoing actions and inform stakeholders in case of delays;
- Strong desire to learn new technologies with the ability to analyze and solve complex problems involving multiple IT teams or users;
- Ability to propose pragmatic solutions that meet project needs while complying with quality standards;
- Perseverance and results-oriented;
- Good oral and written communication skills including presentation skills (ability to present CI/CD tools);
- Customer focus: understanding of user needs and ability to provide appropriate assistance
- Collaboration and team spirit: ability to work harmoniously with an international team spread across Montreal Paris and Bangalore;
Nice-to-have:
- Knowledge of Microsoft Azure build tools (Maven MSBuild npm etc.) TeamCity Jira GitHub Enterprise XLDeploy Nexus JFrog platform Artifactory Sonar PowerShell Kubernetes Docker Terraform ArgoCD and GitHub Actions.
French and English are required. The ability to communicate in English both orally and in writing is a requirement as the person in this position will be required to collaborate regularly with colleagues and partners outside Quebec.
