Location: East Orange NJ (EXPRT Exposure-Related Care Transformation Center
Work Environment: Primarily remote with possible on-site work at NJ WRIISC/EXPRT as needed
Status: Contingent Upon Contract Award
Knowesis is currently seeking a Physician to support the VHA Exposure-Related Care Transformation (EXPRT) Center. This position is essential in developing leading and managing research and implementation efforts focused on military environmental exposures.
The Physician will leverage clinical expertise to develop research programs guide implementation initiatives and collaborate with partners across VA and other institutions. This role requires excellent communication skills strategic thinking and a passion for improving exposure-informed care for Veterans.
To be eligible candidates must be a Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) and a minimum of two to five (2-5) years of experience in clinical practice or research. Applicants must also pass a background check and VA onboarding procedures to gain access to VA systems.
The Job Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Assist in the design and development of research proposals and protocols for new studies.
- Manage implementation support initiatives education products and evaluation studies.
- Coordinate timelines ensure milestones are met and maintain alignment with program goals.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including VA program offices universities and federal agencies.
- Engage in EXPRT-sponsored events (e.g. Day of Learning) to foster collaboration and information sharing.
- Prepare reports publications and presentations summarizing research findings and recommendations.
- Support development of training materials and implementation strategies for healthcare providers.
- Present findings at national and international scientific meetings to advance the field of exposure-informed care.
- Attend EXPRT weekly staff meetings and project meetings providing feedback and clinical expertise.
- Advise leadership on strategic direction based on research findings and clinical insights.
- Maintain required VHA training including VA Privacy Security Awareness and Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI) certification.
Required Qualifications:
- Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO)Insert education required
- Minimum of two to five (25) years of experience in clinical practice or research
- Experience in program development research management or evidence implementation preferred
- Strong communication and technical writing skills with ability to present to diverse audiences
- Favorable background check
