NOW HIRING: Injury Prevention Liaison (OD2A)

Grant-funded position



Under supervision and guidance from the Behavioral Health and Addiction Services Supervisor this Injury Prevention Liaison position will assist Franklin County Public Healths efforts to prevent opiate abuse and addiction through a collaborative process that focuses on surveillance prevention and community education. This position provides primary support and guidance to community partners in administering the CDC Overdose Data to Action: LOCAL grant inclusive of planning implementing and evaluating community-based injury prevention programs that focus on reducing overdose deaths and the leading causes of opiate overdose injury for the Franklin County service area.

This position focuses on providing excellent customer service to internal and external customers in accordance with the mission core values and purposes of Franklin County Public Health.

Duties Include:



  • Acts as a liaison to OD2A partners the public including community and government agencies. Provides technical assistance to partners and/or subgrantees in planning implementing and evaluating opioid prevention and harm reduction programs. Monitors and evaluates local program initiatives projects and grants (e.g. develops and maintains records of progress toward attainment of program objectives) through site visits email and phone contact. Assists with coordinating and facilitating monthly meetings with subgrantees or partners.
  • Coordinates strategies and interventions to provide input and feedback that moves the strategies forward. Coordinates the planning and scheduling for partner engagement by fielding requests from partners and works directly with partners on all strategy related issues.
  • Serves as a resource of health education for providers health care systems and providers and community agencies. Serves on internal and external committees.
  • Promotes program sustainability by identifying new sources of funding. Assists in preparing public and private grant/contract application narratives work plans and budget justifications.
  • Assists in creating presentations and talking points to share with community groups Board of Health businesses and governmental agencies to inform and to enlist their participation in injury prevention activities.



Requirements:



  • Bachelors degree in Public Health Public Administration Health Education Social work or related field.
  • 1 year directly related experience in grants writing and grants management.
  • Ohio Drivers License.
  • Experience with public speaking preferred.
  • This position is expected to work approximately 50% administrative/office and 50% field.

Hiring Wage Range: $23.44/hour - $26.95/hour. This is a non-exempt position.
