Responsibilities
- Greets and directs the clients and other visitors in a prompt and courteous manner. Utilizes skills to assure satisfied clients.
- Notifies the providers of clients arrival. Monitors waiting time to ensure the client is seen within 15 minutes of the scheduled appointment time.
- Communicates a professional attitude with clients visitors and other hospital personnel using language and materials based on the consideration of the clients age cognitive/physical abilities and/or developmental needs. Assures confidentiality of patient and other hospital information.
- Effectively triage telephone calls and prioritize the needs of the caller.
- Identify individuals calling in crisis situations and expeditiously connect caller to appropriate clinical personnel.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a medical setting preferred.
- High school graduate or equivalent with specialized training in typing transcription medical terminology and record keeping is preferred. Equivalent education/experience will be considered.
