Position Summary
The Driver operates Dauphin County Library System (The Library)s delivery vehicle over a specific route of designated stops according to a predetermined time schedule. This position handles and sorts various library materials for accurate delivery to the scheduled stops.

Environmental Conditions
Travels among libraries in three counties. Most time is spent in delivery van or at the different locations on the specified route. Primarily outdoors driving in all types of weather conditions.
Essential Functions
1. Operates The Librarys delivery vehicle over a specified route according to a predetermined time schedule.
2. Handles and sorts library materials of various types for accurate delivery to the scheduled stops including demonstrating accuracy in reading labels on materials.
3. Maintains order and cleanliness of vehicle and assigned delivery areas.
4. Reports maintenance and repair needs to Facilities and Maintenance Manager case of emergency the report should be same day.
5. Attends staff meetings and continuing education workshops.
6. Performs other related duties.

Minimum Qualifications
Education/Training: High school diploma or General Equivalency Development (GED)
Experience: One year
Required: Requires current and valid drivers license (if required to operate a Dauphin County Library System vehicle insurance underwriter requires minimum of three years driving experience) ability to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted
