Job Summary
Position Overview:
The Northwest Tri-County Intermediate Unit (IU5) is seeking a full-time Special Education Teacher to service students at Sarah Reed Childrens Center - Hamilton Campus. This position is for a therapeutic learning classroom for grades 5 - 8.

- 187 work days per year
- 10 paid sick days 3 Personal Days 2 Emergency Days

- Required minimum 7.5% contribution to Pennsylvania School Employees Retirement System (PSERS).
Required Qualifications:
- Certification in Special Education PK-8 or PK-12
Desired Qualifications:
- Certification in regular education
- Experience utilizing Positive Behavior Supports
- Knowledge of various disability categories (i.e. Developmental Delays Autism Spectrum Disorder Speech and Language)
Essential Functions:
- Developing lessons and teaching children in classrooms
- Conducting evaluations to determine eligibility for services
- Writing Evaluation Reports and Individualized Education Plans for students
- Providing services as determined through the IEP process
- Inputting data utilizing the PELICAN system
