Job Summary

Seeking a skilled 1st shift Maintenance Technician near Manhattan NY to support a busy plastic injection molding manufacturing facility. This position ensures molding presses automation systems and plant utilities operate at peak performance to maintain continuous high-quality production.

Key Responsibilities

Perform daily preventive and corrective maintenance on injection molding presses molds auxiliary systems and robotics.
Troubleshoot and repair electrical (480V/3-phase) hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
Support mold setups changeovers and tooling adjustments to minimize downtime.
Maintain and service auxiliary equipment such as dryers chillers compressors grinders and material-handling systems.
Diagnose and correct faults in PLC-controlled equipment and automation/robotic systems.
Maintain accurate records of work performed through a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
Partner with production and engineering teams to improve equipment reliability and efficiency.
Follow strict safety and GMP protocols to ensure a safe and compliant working environment.

Qualifications

5 years of hands-on maintenance experience in an injection molding manufacturing environment.
Solid knowledge of electrical hydraulic pneumatic and mechanical systems.
Experience with injection molding presses (brands such as Husky Engel Arburg or similar a plus).
Ability to read and interpret schematics blueprints and technical manuals.
Familiarity with automation/robotics used in plastics manufacturing.
Welding fabrication and machining skills preferred.
Strong troubleshooting ability and a proactive solutions-focused approach.
