ML Infrastructure Generalist

About the Team

Were hiring across multiple teams each focused on distinct areas of advancing artificial general intelligence (AGI). As an ML engineer supporting these teams youll help build the infrastructure that powers our research roadmap. Our goal is to dramatically accelerate research velocity by maximizing the efficiency of both our researchers and our hardware.

About the Role

Were looking for ML engineers to help empower our researchers and accelerate research progress.

Ideally youve worked with researchers in the past and enjoy the challenges of a dynamic research environment. Were looking for people who love making the teams they work on more productive and love making the GPUs theyre using more productive.

This role is based in San Francisco CA. We use a hybrid work model of 3 days in the office per week and offer relocation assistance to new employees.

In this role you will:

• Build tooling or infrastructure to accelerate the teams you work on

• Dig into issues across the stack even if it goes outside your teams remit

• Help co-design ML with systems considerations

• Make clever tradeoffs to unblock exploration while maintaining sanity

• Do what it takes to unblock research progress

You might thrive in this role if you:

• Love figuring out how to make ML systems work better

• Have experience with ML experimentation and LLM training or inference

• Have strong software engineering skills and are proficient in Python
