About the RoleAs a Regional Business Manager you will provide strategic leadership for your business unit with responsibility for customer service business development and overall performance. You will drive growth by deepening customer engagement supporting operational execution and ensuring our farmer-owners remain central to every decision. Through strong leadership and community connection you will help maximize the success of the business unit.
What will you do
Business Growth & Customer Engagement
- Drive regional growth by developing business plans monitoring pipeline health and competitive analysis.
- Develop and nurture key farmer-owner and prospect relationships both independently and alongside the Sales and Grain team.
- Partner with Marketing and Agronomy to deliver grower meetings agronomy education and loyalty programs that retain and expand key accounts.
- Identify new business opportunities manage prospecting efforts and collaborate with sales and operations to achieve growth objectives.
- Anticipate future business needs by evaluating market trends farmer-owner expectations and local competition; recommend when and where to invest in facilities people and programsor when to avoid investment based on ROI and strategic priorities.
Customer Experience & Support Functions
- Oversee customer service functions including Relationship Specialists (scale/dispatch/customer desk) and Account Coordinators (sales administration order entry pricing credits).
- Coordinate scheduling and staffing for Relationship Specialists and seasonal/part-time support staff to ensure customer needs are met.
- Establish and maintain standardized office processes and SOPs to ensure consistency accuracy and efficiency across business units.
- Serve as a business support partner to Business Unit leadership aligning cross-functional priorities and ensuring seamless communication between business sales and operations.
- Collaborate with the Regional Ops Manager to align customer service promises with operational capacity (application windows delivery slots logistics).
Leadership & Culture
- Promote a sales- and growth-focused culture across the business unit while ensuring alignment with Landus cooperative mission.
- Recruit develop and retain top talent; provide coaching performance management and growth opportunities.
- Foster a culture of empowerment by encouraging employee feedback input and innovation.
- Build strong teams by promoting engagement collaboration and accountability.
- Engage with local community leaders and organizations to foster positive relationships increase brand awareness and support community involvement.
Financial & Strategic Accountability
- Drive profitability improvement within the business unit through direct management of respective P&L.
- Lead strategic planning and tactical execution for the business unit ensuring objectives are achieved.
- Monitor financial customer and growth metrics using data to inform decision-making and continuous improvement.
Requirements
Requirements The ideal candidate will have:
- Must have a valid drivers license
- The ability to obtain the appropriate licenses and endorsements applicable to the location which may include USDA weighing & grading license handlers license and Class A CDL with required endorsements and maintain current DOT physical.
- Must be able to move/lift up to 50 pounds
- Bachelors degree from a four-year college or university and a minimum of three years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Other Skills that will help you succeed:
- Knowledge of MS Office Outlook and databases.
